Heather Weiser

Instructor

Growing up in Alaska, I always had an active lifestyle. I enjoyed hiking, running, kayaking, paddle boarding and alpine skiing. After sustaining an injury, I was encouraged by my orthopedist to replace running with another activity. A friend invited me to a hot yoga class in 2012, I was hooked! Not only was I building strength in a way that was new to me, I was learning to turn my focus inward through meditation, discovering a balance between my physical and mental well-being. After moving here from North Carolina in 2018, I met the owner of a local gym. Through conversation, he learned of my love for yoga, and stated many of the gym members had been requesting yoga classes be added to the schedule, and that's where my teaching journey began. I received my 200 hour YTT in 2019, and immediately began teaching. As an instructor, I like to focus on form and alignment. I have endured multiple injuries that could have been prevented had prompts for proper alignment been cued. In my personal practice, I am obsessed with inversions and arm balances! I love being upside down and you'll often find me working to master something in that realm after a class. I am proud to be part of the Azitala family - I look forward to guiding you and learning from you!
