WHY HOT YOGA?

|

Eight Awesome Benefits that Hot Yoga Provides

  1. Flexibility: The heat will allow you to safely reach new levels of personal flexibility in postures, which is therapeutic for your body!
  2. Strength: Yoga is low impact and uses structural muscles as well as large group muscles with a prime focus is on spine strength, which is key to the life force of your body’s wellness!
  3. Breath: With the added element of the heat, you won’t make it far if you don’t breathe deeply! If there is no breathing, there is no yoga. It won’t take long before you learn to breathe in a full and controlled manner- the heat will guide you to this naturally!
  4. Cardio: Your heart can work the same way doing yoga postures in a heated room as it does when running a mile, and you never even leave your mat. Particularly in postures when you are balancing and engaging your muscles at the same time. The way you stretch and compress your internal organs and glands also stimulates metabolism.
  5. Detox: The heated room helps you sweat. The postures themselves are detoxifying for your muscles, organs, and glands and sweating furthers the detox process helping you continually recycle fluids in the body.
  6. Focus: Listening skills are required to hear instructor’s cues assisting in helping you gain focus, and determination. The ability to focus carries over to your daily life. When you can focus on the task at hand, you’ll excel and you can enjoy all of life more.
  7. Healing: The primary purpose of this yoga is therapy. With a regular practice, these postures can help to heal old injuries and also prevent new injuries. Hot yoga helps reduce the effects of illnesses such as diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, depression, arthritis and obesity.
  8. Life: Yoga equals life.

  • I hot yoga at Azitala

Hey Team! I did enjoy it and will be back.  I feel like I just stepped into a whole orchard full of ripe peaches … that remain fresh 365 days a year!

I have a bunch of Yoga books, even a box full of videos but never really figured it out.  I even paid for Amazon prime membership just to have better access to yoga videos.  The videos are too fast or too slow or “I cant do that!”  Then I paid for a personal trainer to help and started figuring little bits here and there, way better than a book or video.  My old man body started feeling more flexible and less pain and tightness after a weekend of overdoing it and a week of sitting in the office.  A few visits with a personal trainer is not really enough to discover how to do this efficiently and make it part of our life, like we brush our teeth.  I still couldn’t figure out how to do it at home on my own, after a weekend of too many activities or waking up in a hotel with a bad back or after sitting on a plane for too long.  Today I feel like having a mentor or a team of mentors, like team Azitala, will help anyone discover it much more efficiently and in the most healthy way.  Also much more affordable than boxes of books and videos and personal trainers.  Skip the do it yourself stuff when learning.  Get a mentor!

My only regret is that it took this long for me to develop the courage to step through the door into azitala yoga studio.  I was intimidated by the hot yoga thing.  But after just one visit with Sue, I must say that was as good as ANY 60 minute massage!  All this and so much more,  for 10 bucks!  Yah, I will be back.  I think this could be one of the top three discoveries of 2018 for me.

    Cheers, Scott Runde

  • Shakti Flow for you.

I just wanted to share my experience with shakti flow 2 weekends ago. First of all, the class is absolutely awesome! It's so much fun and Michelle is a great leader! While in our final shavasana that day tears began to stream down my face and I really had no reason why it was happening??? I gathered myself together and left the studio but once I got to my car the the tears began to flow like a fountain. It continued on until I got home and could breath again. It was such a cleansing experience, obviously I hold a lot in and I had teared up a few other times like this after class but nothing like shakti. I wanted you to know how valuable this class is and just how appreciative I feel that you can offer it at the studio. Yesterday's class was just as good. I left with a comepletely different feeling of lightness and empowered to face the world.

  • Yoga is so much more.

Having just celebrated my first twelve months of yoga practice, I wanted to express my gratitude to all of the instructors at azItala. I have learned much from each of you and I am very thankful. My central motivation at the beginning of my practice was to lose weight and increase strength and flexibility. I have done all of that and more. Through my practice, I have lost over 40 lbs., developed sculpted arms to rival Michelle Obama, and have eliminated the need for frequent chiropractic visits. Yoga is great exercise! Anyone who has taken Kim’s strength class or Molly’s active flow knows that yoga is a great cardio workout. Or holding postures in Tanya’s static until your legs shake. But yoga is so much more. As a foodie and stress eater, I know I will always struggle with my weight. However, I have found that my practice is a great stress reliever. You have all become voices in my head teaching non-judgment and detachment. As a confirmed non-athlete, it is amazing that I have grown my practice to 3-4 classes per week. I would never have done this if it weren’t for the varied class schedule that alternately challenges me and provides positive mental energy.

Thank you all for a great year! — Susan M. Kadlec

Wonderful results, both physically and mentally.

So thankful for azItala! The teachers and classes are amazing! I enjoyed classes daily for 6 months and saw wonderful results, both physically and mentally. I recently went for my annual physical and found out my cholesterol had dropped 40 points from 220 down to 180. It is a blessing to have in Elk River!

    Each class is labeled accordingly.

Love the studio and the teachers. They all seem to be very involved in each and every class. And I think each class is labeled accordingly for those newer yogis not sure which class to take.
